What if a passion for video games could become a pathway to a career in technology, design, or entrepreneurship?
At Brilliance by the Bay, San Francisco Regional Mensa’s 2026 Regional Gathering, we’re welcoming Gameheads, an Oakland-based nonprofit that empowers young people through video game design, technology education, and career development.
On Saturday, November 21, attendees can experience two sides of Gameheads’ innovative approach to learning.
Level Up: Launching Tech Careers with Gameheads with Damon Packwood, Executive Director
Discover how Gameheads helps young people transform their interests into real-world skills. Through coding, digital art, storytelling, game design, and mentorship from industry professionals, students develop creative and technical abilities while exploring pathways to college and careers in gaming and technology.
Gameheads Student Showcase
Then see those skills in action and meet the young creators at the Gameheads Student Showcase. Meet student game developers, explore their original projects, and play games they’ve created. From imaginative storytelling to innovative gameplay, this interactive showcase offers a firsthand look at what young creators can accomplish.
You don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy this experience. Young attendees can discover new possibilities, parents and educators can explore creative approaches to learning, and adults of all ages can appreciate the ingenuity, collaboration, and problem-solving behind game development.
Come hear the ideas, meet the creators, and play the games!
Join us November 20–22, 2026, in Burlingame, California, for Brilliance by the Bay, a weekend of intellectual discovery, creativity, and connection.
