On August 16, San Francisco Regional Mensa Gifted Youth families enjoyed an outing at the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley. The group was led on an exclusive docent-led tour, which provided engaging explanations and interesting factoids about the evolution of technology.

The highlight of the day was an encounter with Ameca, a state-of-the-art humanoid robot that amazed the group with her ability to hold natural conversations in multiple languages using powerful AI models like OpenAI’s GPT. SFRM families posed questions to Ameca in English, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, etc., and she was able to answer them all with dexterity. Everyone was really impressed and amazed at what the future of AI looks like.

With seven families in attendance, the event was a wonderful chance for youth Mensans to meet, connect and, most importantly, have fun!
